The tool was last updated on 05/02/2026.
Please note that any game updates released after this date may cause the tool to stop functioning.

How to Run the Tool:
If your system is running Wayland, switch to X11. I faced some issues with keeping the tool window on top under Wayland, but it works correctly on X11. If you find a way to use the tool with Wayland, you may do so; otherwise, switch to X11 if you encounter problems.

After that, open the terminal and follow the steps below:

1. Become root (sudo su)

2. Create a directory/folder in the root filesystem (with any name) and change its permissions so that only root can access its contents.

3. Move the DBD_Tool file to the directory you created.

4. (Optional) Hide the root processes from user processes (the tool already does this, but it is worth checking before running the game).

5. Finally, run the tool using ./path_to_DBD_Tool (make sure you are still root by using the sudo su command).
If the tool does not start, change the permissions of DBD_Tool file to allow execution.

Once the tool is running, you will see its window. Click on it and press the Menu key (Insert, or whatever key you have set). The menu will appear.
Now run the game and make sure to enable “Keep Below Others” for the game window and “Keep Above Others” for the tool window so the tool stays on top of the game.

If you are unable to keep the tool window above the game window, try changing the game’s window mode to borderless windowed or a similar option.
